Acme buys Ochs Brick, gains foothold in Midwest
Fort Worth-based Acme Brick has bought Minnesota-based Ochs Brick and the natural-stone fabrication company, McFarlane Stone, marking Acme's first expansion into the Upper Midwest in a deal that the company says will push its production to more than 1 billion bricks a year.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The Ochs plant in Springfield, Minn., underwent a $9 million expansion in 2001, doubling its capacity to 60 million bricks a year, Acme said. It becomes Acme's 24th brick plant and will increase the company's capacity to more than 1.3 billion bricks annually, Acme said. Read more
