Downward March for Atlantic City casinos
Even the powerhouse Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, the city's top-grossing casino, stumbled last month. Borgata's gaming revenue declined 13.4 percent to $57.5 million. Harrah's Atlantic City was the only casino that nearly eked out a gain. Table game revenue surged 40 percent at Harrah's to offset a 6.2 percent decline in slot winnings. Overall, Harrah's revenue slipped just 0.7 percent in March, a month helped by the grand opening of the casino's new 960-room hotel tower.
