No, once meat is contaminated you can get sick when you cook it
unfortunately. One reason for contamination is someone did not
wash their hands. There are other reasons as will, poor refridgeration, bad feed which is contaminated before they pack it, many scary reasons.

I always heard that food needed to be cooked to a certain temperature destroy any bacteria. I know Mad Cow is immune to temperature, but I always thought E.coli could be killed with heat..

However, if you eat meat anything below welldone, there is a bigger risk of bacteria. With guaranteed contamination, it's not just a risk anymore, but a warning.

If there is bacteria in the meat the only thing to kill it, I believe is radiation or iradiation. I don't think it kills E Coli.

The sad thing is that irradiation is perfectly safe for people.

Well, according to this it does kill it.

I received a call yesterday from the firm that makes ground beef for Price Chopper. I was advised that we had purchased ground beef which had E Coli. The dates they gave me were within the past month. I've had symptoms, but ignored them, as I had not been informed about the possibility of E Coli. I thought it was a bug of some type. Now I have to go to ER for tests. Why did they wait so long to advise me. If you have cramps, nausea, etc., perhaps you had better contact your doctor.

The ER? That's the last place to go. ERs were meant for.... Emergencies. Go see your family doctor or a care center. Or just stick it out. This'll save you a trip to the ER.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Cancer

Mercury turning retro is offering you the chance to make sweeping and long-lasting changes to your life, and to clear the ground for some fertile growth in 2010. Lawyers and legal matters, debates, contract negotiations, partnership or other alliances, and joint ventures of any kind need attention. As a Cancerian you don't like endings, but you must now bring an end to any situation or relationship that is holding you back or has passed its sell-by date. Look forward, not back, if you want a glittering future.
