Food safety bill too weak to protect consumers

Nearly every two hours a U.S. resident dies from a food-related illness. Every year, nearly one in three Americans - including some 3.3 million Michigan residents, my daughter among them - becomes seriously ill from food they thought was safe to eat, and some 325,000 wind up in the hospital.

too much corruption at the agencies meant to make sure food is safe .. the factory beef producers there is so much obviously wrong, but the crap continues to get put in stores

read Omnivore's Dilemma .. you'll never eat beef again .. and be turned off to most processed food
