Person found shot to death in North Linden

Another participant who became a victim of an after hours hangout. Our police need to form a task force and start shutting these down, because they cater to the criminal element. Alcohol, drugs, sex, and guns just don't mix. Has anyone identified this problem to be a race thing, or are they goiung to say it's related to social economic? Local government should do the same with these establishments as they do with known drug houses, by confiscating them and demolishings them. Owners would be less likely to rent them for this use. They are destroying the neighborhoods surrounding them!

What in the world are you talking about? It was outside an auto parts store. Appartently they were just parked in the parking lot.

HEY NUMBNUTS!!! Are you reading the same story I just did? It didn't say anything about an after hours establishment. It was an Advanced Auto Parts store. The last I heard you can't buy alcohol, drugs and sex at an auto parts store.

Had the 2 previous posters seen the whole story, they'd know the group filed out of an after hours establishment across the street just prior and congregated into the Adv Auto Pts lot..

There is an after hour spot in that area... and that is why people be in the parking lot ... they call it parking lot pimpin ....I agree that the after hour spots should be closed down as well.....there's nothing but a lot of drug dealers with wads of money in their pockets... but yet they still find a reason to kill

That's not what they had in the paper so both of our comments are valid, DIRK!

I wish they would clean up this area there are a lot of nice people in that area that has lived there for a long time and the drugs, and trash have taken it over!!!!!!!

Cleveland Ave is still the same...why all the sensless shootings?

columbus does have 2 many after hours spots..they need to regulate those or close them...nothing good every comes from them being open.

I agree with you about cleveland ave. But in regards to where I live. well I was born and raised and retired in ohio but left. And I still have family there. So yes I will comment as I believe that ohio is going down the tubes quick fast and in a hurry.

NUMBNUTs was informed and apparently you weren't! How about we provide an opportuntiy for these establishments to be relocated to your neighborhood. I live in the are, not WVA. The newspaper chose the address for my posting, not I!

As noted in my last post, I'm not from W.VA. I grew up in the area and still live there. North Linden was a happening place to be with the main area being from Hudson to Northern Lights Shopping Center. The problems started taking place about ten years ago. Enough is enough! It could happen to your neighborhood soon also, if we don't get involved. Hope you enjoy the atmosphere if it does!

it has happened in my neighborhood recently the man who was fatally shot the other day on s.warren it right up the street from me and a man was stabbed 2 weeks ago in my complex over a girl so it isnt the greatest where i live either and for me to do sometihng i dont think so its none of my business and it will happen anyways it dont matter how much you try to deter crime it will always be here and there is no real way to stop it.

This is the attitude they prey on--being none of my business. It is your business, and more than you know! Call the police on them. You can refuse to give an address and name when you call, but keep calling when the problem persists. Eventually the bad element will move on, becasue they don't like the extra attention they get.

In Columbus,Ohio everyone sits around hiding in their homes, Scared to do anything or like the person posting says" It is none of my business". It becomes your business when you or someone in your family is hurt or if it takes place in your neighborhood. Call the police and keep calling the police,Do a block watch,Get a video camera or a webcam and take videos. Post them on youtube. Then your block would get notice and the rule of thumb is that the clean and dirty can't occupy the same area. One has to go and one has to stay. Trust me if I lived near a crack house or drug dealers, They would be out of business in a month.
Stop hiding in your homes and waiting for the other person to do it!!!

The laws are pretty clear on after hours joints. You can't sell any kind of alcoholic drinks after hours.If they are not selling alcohol there; then adults can gather in places like this anytime.To get around the law, they can become a club; charge one dollar for a membership, and sell alcohol 24-7,to members only.
They are more commonly known as social clubs, totally legal, all you have to do is get a membership card and you are in.
