I couldn't agree more. I just put a lease application in for bottom growing of oysters and because the area in question had been picked by the exsting commercial oyster fisherman(less than 1 day a year) then it as off limits for aquaculture. I could put 200 man days on the grounds and raise production by 20 fold but our Fisheries & Oceans Canada recmmended against it. The government wants growth and job creation but doesn't want to make any accomodation for aquaculture.
