Isn't the Church the original corporation? Selling hope and dreams? Short Term goals indeed.

Read ACTS 2:44-47 and ACTS 4;32-37 to see the kind of artificial "family" of Jesus and the other earliest Christians that was called "The Kingdom of God". It was NOT a capitalistic system.

Any other Pope I might trust with economics. But this Pope who spent his most formative years in the "Hitler Youth" is subject to suggest forced-labor concentation camps, which Nazi Germany found so useful.

Dan, you wrote, in part: >>> ... But this Pope who spent his most formative years in the "Hitler Youth" is subject to suggest forced-laborconcentation camps, which Nazi Germany found so useful. <<<
..... Do read a part of the biography of the pope, his early life: 1927-51 in
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pope_Benedict_XV...
..... Note that it includes:
Following his 14th birthday in 1941, Ratzinger was enrolled in the Hitler Youth, as membership was required for all 14-year old German boys after December 1939,[7] but was an unenthusiastic member and refused to attend meetings.[8] His father was a bitter enemy of Nazism, believing it conflicted with the Catholic faith, according to biographer John L. Allen, Jr.

I am no relgious zealot but didn't Jesus die for his beliefs? If so then so should have this guy if he is that hard core.
The Catholic church is just trying to remain relevent in a day and age where science disproves their story more and more every day.

Does each religion get their own economy?

Having a hard time figuring why the Pope is even relevant. When he visited Africa recently, he said condom use helped spread AIDS...

F*ck the stupid pope. Who does he think he is? Wants people to think he has some kind of devine power. He isn't jesus. And he sure aint no leader or a god. He is just an old man still trying to push his redundant ways and beliefs on people who don't give a crap about him.

The Roman Catholic Church is Doom Doom. Satan the Devil is the creator of the Roman Catholic Church but now he has removed his own protection from the pedophile Pope that lives in the Vatican in Rome, Italy, because Satan does not want people calling him: "Pedophile Satan". Yes, Satan the Devil that used to be an Angel in Heaven is a Pedophile for allowing the Catholics of his own Roman Catholic Church that he created to sexually abuse children around the world. The Pope should get a taste of his own medicine by burning alive on the Cross just like the Catholics burned alive for 700 years the people that refuced to become Catholics. Satan the creator of the Roman Catholic Church is not longer protecting the Pope so world rise up and burn down the Roman Catholic Church. One thing I find really weir and funny is how come those crazy Muslim Terrorists attacked the City of New York but they do not have the balls to turn the Vatican into Ground Zero. The Roman Catholic Church is Doom Doom. Also if the USA Government does not stop protecting the paedophile Pope the USA will be Doom Doom.

I'll wait to see if the Vatican starts giving away their riches by selling the many priceless paintings and works of arts they hold dear, and then donating those to the needy.

I hope the far right is watching. When they fight for less seperation between Church and State, that impacts the economy also. Not just "morals" and "family values".

The Bible warns us about greed.

Jesus spoke out against excessive riches.

A young rich man once asked Jesus what he had to do to get into Heaven, and He answered

"If you wish to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to (the) poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me. When the young man heard this statement, he went away sad, for he had many possessions. Then Jesus said to his disciples, "Amen, I say to you, it will be hard for one who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for one who is rich to enter the kingdom of God."

Greed has always been a problem since the man first walked on the Earth, and it will be a problem until the end.

So, there's nothing wrong with the Pope reminding us that greed is bad. People and peace is more imporant than profits and power.

Makes as much sense as paying off the federal deficit by selling of Yellowstone to a private investment firm and selling the liberty Bell for scrap metal.
