News of Peterson's positive test, which took place in March, comes less than two weeks before his scheduled rematch with Amir Khan in Las Vegas, where Peterson was set to put his World Boxing Association super lightweight and International Boxing Federation junior welterweight belts on the line on May 19 at Mandalay Bay.

Many great fighters have come from the boxing-rich island of Puerto Rico, one of those being WBA Super Welterweight World Champion Miguel Cotto, who hails from the city of Caguas and now carries the torch passed to him by the last great Puerto Rican pugilist, Felix "Tito" Trinidad.
