Washington Wizards Review: Rough Drafts of the Decade
The year is over. The decade is over. The Wizards can put their failures behind them and build for the future starting with the '10s. But not before looking back on the multitude of mishaps and missed opportunities in the '00s. The 2000 NBA Draft is widely considered to be the worst draft class of the decade, if not the last 20 to 30 years.
Wizards (10-17) at Timberwolves (6-24), Catching up with Pecherov
A lot has been made about the current Wizards and former Timberwolves returning to Minnesota tonight, but there actually is a former Wizard now plying his trade with the Timberwolves.

The Picture Of Consistency For The Washington Wizards: Brendan Haywood
The Washington Wizards have proven themselves to be inconsistent in the early going of the 2009-2010 season.
The Wizards are 0-for-Oklahoma City. They've never won at Ford Center, losing to the Thunder, 88-83, last season and twice against the New Orleans Hornets, who spent two seasons in Oklahoma following Hurricane Katrina.
Thunder fend off Wizards 127-108
Kevin Durant scored 35 points, Russell Westbrook added 26 and the Oklahoma City Thunder had their highest-scoring output of the season in a 127-108 victory over the Washington Wizards on Friday night.
It's game day for the Wizards, and they'll be looking to avoid their fifth straight loss in Miami against the Heat.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., Oct. 13 -- Andray Blatche decided that his fifth season in the NBA was going to be about change. It started with picking a new number. He ditched No. 32, and buried all of the underachievement that had become associated with it, in exchange for No. 7, which Blatche said carried a dual meaning for 'seven days of hard work' and 'the Lord's number,' representing completion.
Blatche also got braces in the offseason, creating an even more youthful appearance for the 23-year-old backup big man who is perpetually tabbed for a breakout season.

Wizards' Haywood Eager to Make Up for Lost Time
He has outlasted Michael Jordan, Eddie Jordan, Kwame Brown, Doug Collins and Jerry Stackhouse. He has outlasted the bronze trim and the gold-and-black jerseys. He's outlasted the name MCI Center. He has outlasted George W. Bush. He wore No. 3 before Juan Dixon begged him for it. He wore No. 0 before selling it to Gilbert Arenas. He has watched a close friend (Jared Jeffries) bolt for big free-agent dollars and a former rival and sparring partner (Etan Thomas) get traded.
In case you haven't noticed, Brendan Haywood has been around a while.

I will welcome AD, but I have to move on without my big bruza. So, was the Mike Miller and Randy Foye trade really all about the Minnesota Timberwolves getting Oleksiy Pecherov? Pecherov is now the only player remaining from the original trade Minnesota made with Washington two days prior to the NBA draft.
