As the regular season wound down, there was a faction that hoped the 76ers wouldn't sneak into the playoffs with the eighth seed, instead hoping for the lottery.

The 76ers lost to the Celtics in Game 7 85-75, but the New York Times posted a nice article on Elton Brand, who has done a lot to provide leadership and stability for the franchise.

Rajon Rondo had 18 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds and the Boston Celtics beat the Philadelphia 76ers 85-75 in Game 7 on Saturday night to advance to the Eastern Conference finals.

Win or lose in Game Seven, the 76ers and their fans are already calling this playoff run a major success and one that can carry over into next season.
