As painful as the Dallas Mavericks' 2012-13 season was, it actually feels necessary that the Mavs' worst season since 2000 lingers just a bit more.

With the playoffs well into the second round and the Dallas Mavericks on the sidelines, the wheels are free to turn at the front office and in the mind of every Maverick journalist and fan, wondering what can and will be done to return the Mavs to contention before Dirk's window closes.

As the position evaluation moves on, we land at the power forward spot. Needless to say, the Mavs haven't had to worry about filling this position in terms of a starter for an entire season for a long time.

The Dallas Mavericks fought until the very end of the 2012-2013 NBA season to try and get out of the hole that they dug for themselves early in the season and make the playoffs, but they ultimately fell short.

After a couple of seasons as a key reserve and part-time starter for the Dallas Mavericks , hybrid center/forward Brandan Wright is approaching unrestricted free agency as a player that many teams will be pursuing.
