As the Nationals await their team doctor's evaluation of Ryan Zimmerman's MRI exam, they placed Zimmerman on the 15-day disabled list with a right hamstring strain, called up infielder Zach Walters, braced for the possibility they will chase the pennant without one of their most indispensable players and prepared for potential contingencies.

Nationals 7-4 over Rockies: Adam LaRoche's three-run blast lifts Nats

The Washington Nationals fell behind 3-0 early tonight in Denver, but the Nats rallied to take the lead on a three-run blast of a home run by Adam LaRoche in the seventh finally giving them a lead over the Colorado Rockies in what ended up a 7-4 win in Coors Field.
