Trumbo's slam powers Diamondbacks' victory

With the bases loaded in the third, Trumbo slammed an 0-1 pitch from Giants' starter Ryan Vogelsong over the right field fence and the grande salami powered the Diamondbacks to a 6-2 victory over the Giants before 21,731 in Chase Field. The loss was particularly costly to the Giants, who, combined with the Dodgers' win over the Rockies, now fall four games behind Los Angeles in the National League West Division standings.

Pollock followed with a walk and Mark Trumbo brought them both home with a single up the middle en route to an early 2-0 lead.

Diamondbacks 10, Padres 4: Sometimes you're the kerb, sometimes you're the stomper.

There will be no beercap, Turambar having taken to the first part of the equation rather too much, presumably in anticipation of an eighth successive loss. He had the chance to beercap a winning game... There must be something about Saturday nights at Chase Field.

Game #148: Diamondbacks vs. Padres

The Diamondbacks ' current seven-game losing run is tied for sixth all-time, and is the only one in the top 12 where we averaged less than two runs a game over the streak. We had an eight-game streak in 1998, a ten-game one in 2010, and no less than three longer streaks in 2004, lasting nine, eleven and fourteen games.

Time to trade Pedroia?

Dustin Pedroia has been one of the best Red Sox players in terms of character, performance, leadership, and heart since he broke into the league. But with declining skills and health and a potential star waiting in the wings, is it time to sell high, much like what the Red Sox did with Nomar a decade earlier? After the end of the season, if the Dodgers fail to win the title... there could be a major trade on the horizon The Dodgers trade Joc Pederson and Justin Turner to the Diamondbacks and sign Hanley Ramirez to a contract in the 3 year 35 million range and trade him to the Red Sox.
