While I do like the fact the Yanks have played their way to 1st place in the dicision, it's still only July, and a lot can happen, especially with the talented teams right behind us. But I do like the fact that the pitching is really do well of late, and the wins are piling up. Let's keep it going boys!

I know! And for a minute there I wondered what was wrong with my cable connection!

When I phoned Time Warner, a recording came on: "If you are calling about Arod's two-RBI single, please contact MY9 directly or stay on the line for further assistance."

In any case, one game in first is great. Now the Yanks have to put some distance between themselves and Boston.

Not bad for a team who spotted the Red Sox an eight game lead!

And you gotta print Corey Lidle up a new pilot's license. No wait, nevermind. Too bad he took his lessons from Munson Air.

Yeah but let's see him do it in October when it really counts. Over his career he's not been the clutch player people make him out to be. When he wins a ring, get back to me. Of course they have to make the playoffs. Anything can happen the last 70 games. Don't forget they have 2 West Coast trips coming up, with another crack against Anaheim their nemesis. Boston has already made their West Coast trips. Should be a fun filled AL East race the last 2 plus months with the Yanks, Bosox & Rays. Girardi's job hangs in the balance.

While his last 3 trips to the post season have not been very good, prior to that his numbers aren't too bad. In 2004 vs Minn, he hit .421, and against Bos he hit .258, but his avg after the first 3 games against Bos was about .500.
Look up his numbers, even after 3 bad series with the Yanks (2005,6 & 7) he still has a playoff bat avg of .279. And let's not forget that when you are in the playoffs, you're facing the better pitchers in the game.

I agree completely! people boo him when he doesnt hit one of the wall every time up.

When all is said and done, he will end up with more HR's than anyone that has ever played the game.

Hey Liam...what's up? I'm not too thrilled with their play as of late, compared to what it was, but we're still on top of the hill for now. I'll try to find Jim on the Newsday boards, if I can even find them. Tell Jim to get his azz on Topix! Be well Liam

haha I was suprised as well with his posts. I told him about ny topix but who knows. He was posting on a yankees story in newsday under jim4yanks I believe. Great win last night for the Yanks even if it wasnt pretty. Gardners legs will probly play a huge roll in the playoffs. Great to be back in them after a 1 year layoff. Be well man.

Daily Horoscope for December 9

Capricorn

You're in an industrious mood but you'll be happiest if you can be left to your own devices as much as possible. It's not that you're feeling unfriendly, simply that you won't be able to concentrate very well if you're surrounded by lots of people. If you haven't even started writing your Christmas cards yet, try to remedy that at some point today.
