Hard to believe that it's been 10 years since the Dodgers and Giants engaged in a tense head-to-head fight for the National League West title, but you do have to go back to the final weekend of the 2004 season, when the Dodgers took a one-game lead over the Giants into the penultimate game of the season and won the West on Steve Finley's ninth-inning grand slam. Which is not to say there have not been big Dodger-Giant moments since then.

Brewers complete Broxton trade with Reds
The Brewers on Wednesday sent Minor League right-handers Kevin Shackelford and Barrett Astin to the Reds, completing the Aug. 31 trade that sent reliever Jonathan Broxton to Milwaukee. Shackelford, 25, began the year on the Brewers' 40-man roster but was outrighted in July amid a mixed season.
