Royals infielder Johnny Giavotella came into play tonight for the Omaha Storm Chasers 0-for-his-last-19, but he broke out of his slump in Game 1 of a doubleheader in Reno, going 1-for-1 with a double and two walks.

Omaha and Reno played two tonight, with the Aces taking Game 1 by a 4-2 final. Justin Marks took the loss, as he allowed all four runs over five innings of work.

A lot has been made of the start the Royals are out to. It's a good start , but if they are going to hang with Detroit, that's going to mean getting some reinforcements during the season, either internally from the farm or externally through trades.
