Cueto, Negron lift Reds to 3-2 win over Rockies

Cueto allowed two runs and six hits to help the Reds snap a three-game skid. He's now 7-0 since a loss at San Diego on July 2. Negron lined a two-out single up the middle off Adam Ottavino to bring in Ramon Santiago with the go-ahead run.

They added another to the list Tuesday night. Brett Anderson cruised through three innings before back spasms ended his night, and the Colorado bullpen struggled again in a 6-5, 12-inning loss to the Chicago Cubs.

Cubs 4, Rockies 3 (16 Innings): Rockies drop longest game in franchise history in humiliating fashion

Perhaps we'll look back on this 4-3 loss someday and smile. Maybe this is the step the baseball gods had to take to ensure that the Cubs finished a game ahead of the Rockies at season's end and didn't get their paws on a certain draft pick that would have netted them a certain star player we haven't even heard of yet.
