Twins prospect Carlos Gutierrez was taken out of Friday's Class AAA Rochester game because of a shoulder problem and will be examined by doctors on Monday.

The shortstop drove in all of Rochester's three runs, two of which came on his seventh-inning, two-run homer that gave his team the lead, as the Red Wings beat Buffalo, 3-2, Monday night before 2,815 at frigid Frontier Field.

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have optioned right-handed pitcher Carlos Gutierrez, infielder Tsuyoshi Nishioka, and outfielder Rene Tosoni to Triple-A Rochester.
