Gardner's going to be a big loss In the Yankee lineup defensively, batting wise and on certainly on the base path. I do not care what anyone says Gardner is a great, gritty player that reminds me of Dustin Padroia

So far, so good. Stop selling Melky short. He's played great since Gardner went down. He's better than Gardner, he's younger and he has more upside. Gardner is as good as he's going to get. I like Gardner as a role player/spot starter/baserunner/defensive replacement/pinch runner but if the Yankees don't make the playoffs it certainly won't be because they lost Gardner for a few weeks. He may be gritty like Pedroia but you can't compare them talent-wise. I agree that every team could use a gritty dirt bag type player but lets not get carried away with doom and gloom over Gardner being hurt. I heard just a few minutes ago on SNY that the Yankees were considering bringing Austin Jackson up for the White Sox series. I hope it's not a showcasing stunt. He's the future in centerfield.

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Virgo

You aren't fooling anyone - it's easy for everyone else to see that inexperienced people are unaware of their obligations, Virgo. You're grumpy about starting a familiar process from the beginning again, but don't let that get in the way of getting on with it. Sour grapes have no place in your daily dealings. Although you may 'own' a project, it's ultimately in the hands of someone else. Deal with it and then move on.
