Sox get offense going just in time
BREAKING THROUGH: After being held scoreless for 17 straight innings by Frederick pitchers, the Salem Red Sox came up with a three-run seventh on Sunday to record a 3-2 victory in front of 2,447 at Salem Memorial Ballpark, avoiding a sweep of the three-game series.

SALEM, Va. -- Several thousand people milled about the concourse at Salem Memorial Baseball Stadium, many of them college students enjoying discounted beer night for last Thursday's game between the Salem Red Sox and Potomac Nationals.
ALL WET: Wednesday's game was suspended by rain in the bottom of the fourth inning with the Red Sox leading Potomac 6-0. It'll resume at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with the regularly scheduled game to follow.
