I'm going to keep this pretty short today, but yesterday's action had several promising arms on the mound for the Astros .
Lyles Optioned, Mystery Player to be Called Up
The Astros have optioned Jordan Lyles after a poor start in which he gave up 6 earned runs in 5 innings pitched.

One night after Oklahoma City hammered Reno pitchers for 16 runs and 22 hits, Bauer holds the RedHawks to one run during Triple-A debut.
With no off-days coming up, the Astros will manipulate no further as they had been doing to expand their bullpen and put off the need for a starter.

Hunter Pence killed the Astros with a dagger of a home run, he let them back in with a devastating error and then he killed them again in a 4-3 Phillies' win.
Astros Minor League Recap May 11th, 2012
Who had the best performance yesterday? None other than Jordan Lyles ! The major league clubs seems to be having tree-outs for the starter on Tuesday between Aneury Rodriguez and Lyles, and Lyles bid could be all he needs to make it.
It's Friday again Astros fans, and that means that it's time to check in on how the Astros pitchers performed over the past week.
Thursday's Three Astros Things
Here's some things to talk about while you dress up like Fidel Castro ... 1) The middle infield gets some love - FanGraphs had two straight very complimentary pieces on Houston's middle infielders, comparing Jose Altuve to Starlin Castro and talking about Jed Lowrie's "breakout." Some very good points in both posts, as well as the obligatory ... (more)
In a season where they have played above their head so far and expectations remain low, the Astros can still be expected to be sellers this summer.

Astros end Marlin's seven-game winning streak
The tipping point: The Astros didn't get a base runner past first off righthander Annibal Sanchez until the sixth, when singles by pinch-hitter Marwin Gonzalez and Jose Altuve and a walk by Carlos Lee loaded the bases with two outs.
Minor league notebook: Cosart gets to display his 'extra A' game
Top pitching prospect Jarred Cosart's promotion to Class AAA is likely to be a short one.
Zambrano tosses 3-hitter as Marlins top Astros 4-0
Stanton's homer into the Crawford Boxes in left field put Miami up 2-0 in the fourth inning and gives him six home runs and 12 RBIs during his streak.
The Astros ' homestand continues with three games against the Florida Marlins . On Monday, Wandy Rodriguez will face Carlos Zambrano ; Tuesday, Aneury Rodriguez will be called up from AAA to face Anibal Sanchez ; and Wednesday, Lucas Harrell will go up against Josh Johnson .
The Astros have called up Aneury Rodriguez to the big league club. Rodriguez will pitch in place of the injured Kyle Weiland.
