One night a few weeks ago the House of Blues was jammed with fans of the blues singer/songwriter/guitarist Keb' Mo'. It was a lively crowd, predominantly white , drinking and talking loudly as the opening act walked onstage.

David Mamet tells me he's like the character in one of the greatest comedies ever written, Moliere's "The Bourgeois Gentleman," who declares: "Good heavens!
