Puerto Rico natives, Calle 13 , are most recognized for their 2005 dance anthem "Atrevete-te-te." The song entices listeners to "get up and get hyper," and that's just what bandleaders and stepbrothers Rene Joglar and Eduardo Cabra did along with nine other musicians at the Fox Theater on Saturday night.

Conditions were perfect for a sweaty night - muggy weather plus Calle 13's non-stop danceable beats equaled an energetic show that, if done right, should have resulted in an aerobic workout.

With South by Southwest a distant memory and the Austin City Limits Fest still months away, there's always Panchaga Fest to hold music lovers over.

Repeat after me: "Ka-yeay, Tress-say." OK then, now that we can all pronounce their name, I can begin to tell you how this trio of siblings from Puerto Rico turned a bouncy party song into an anthem that helped evolve the group into a revolutionary voice for Latinos across the Americas.

Coupled with dynamic rhythms that somehow flow together like streams of water, their ripped-from-the-headlines lyrics of liberation struggle had the audience literally -- at least in the case of one wild fan in a Mexican wrestling mask -- hanging from the rafters.

Austin may soon become the festival capital of the world, and the Latin-inspired Pachanga Festival deserves a special place among the throng for the sheer enormity of the international talent amassed in one location this weekend.

The Pachanga Latino Music Festival, which takes place this Friday and Saturday with performances from Calle 13, Alejandro Escovedo and Girl in A Coma, among others, will donate $5 from every ticket sold today to the SIMS Foundation .
