Comptroller John Liu is holding the city's contract for new taxi cabs hostage until the Bloomberg administration modifies the design to make the vehicles accessible to handicapped riders.

The 2012 Nissan NV High Roof is tall enough inside to allow those even 6 feet tall to stand comfortably while packing cargo.

Comptroller John Liu further complicated the city's Taxi of Tomorrow project on Wednesday by saying he wouldn't approve the city's contract with Nissan because the vehicle selected isn't wheelchair accessible.
