I t is sad to say, but I am afraid the american auto industry has enjoyed its best days. Again they find themselves behind all the competition. With china coming into the race to build smaller fuel efficient cars it may only be a matter of time until they join the long list of former american companies now out of business.

That's also why the American Economy is in a sink hole. The stupidity of many of the people living here.

Hope none of your relatives work in the auto industry if they do your certainly not very supportive. Maybe you should move to Japan. Maybe u shouldn't utilize any of our rights that we are blessed with as americans.

Some of you that are making your comments need to put the shoe on the other foot...We work and now we are losing our jobs. We all have families that need health care, bills that need to be paid and mouths that need fed. Imagine if you were told you are out of a job in 4 months. 22 years vested with a company that you were planning on retiring from. I don't know about you but just about every place with the exception of fast food is going out of business in our area and there are no jobs. Put yourself in our shoes--better look out because you might not be laughing when all is said and done the same can happen to you. Keep buying the foreign crap and slapping your country in the face.

Slap in the face?!?!?

Slap in the face was when there was NO choice! You had to buy UAW-GM or one of the other two.

All now have a CHOICE. There are no guns forcing people to buy Toyota Honda et al. They just make better cars.

The same (job loss) can happen to you?!?!?

UAW "bargained" for guaranteed 30 year retirement. Did Mr. gigglefinger forget to visit with car buyers, to see if they wanted "GM crap for cars?" I think not.

Collective bargaining works best, when there is a 100% MONOPOLY. But the UAW labor MONOPOLY is no more.

Sorry you got sucked into the myth of the UAW. Welcome to the REAL world of working for a living.

Keep this in mind. When the owners (share holders) get screwed, it is only a matter of time until they pack up, and move their investment to better digs. Capital need not pay $76 per hour in wages and benefits for lugnutters.

"No jobs" in your town?!?!? Leave for better opportunities. Enjoy.

Jobs don't last forever went the OWNERS get zippo.

Research???

Numbers???

GM screwed too many car buyers, too long.

Toyota is Number 1.

GM is number 2 --- and dropping.

After all the "GM crap for cars," par is not good enough. No way!!!

And GM is damn sure NOT par with Toyota Honda et al.
