Car show season and time to pick the best vehicles of the year is upon us again, and in the midst of the rush, a select handful of automotive journalists--including our own Executive Editor Marty Padgett--are somehow supposed to find the time to meditate on the essential greatness of every vehicle on the 2010 North American Car of the Year list.

I wonder which psycho ward inhabitants they used to compile this list. To put a dinosaur like the Camaro on the same page as a BMW 335d, and actually ahead of such cars as a Porsche Panamera and E-Class Mercedes, tells me a lot about the taste of the American car buyer.
