The death of the Acura RL/Legend?

If the rumormill is correct, then I saw the writing on the wall as far back as 1996 when the Acura Legend was renamed 3.5RL . The styling of the re-monikered vehicle was drab, just plain bland and lacked a V8, nothing's changed.
