Expanding the Prius family just makes sense, it is a reliable and well-received platform.

Toyota speaks with a forked tongue! They want to expand Prius, but they are closing a major assembly plant in California. If they want to expand Prius, why are they laying off over 5,000 skilled employees?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the plant closure you're talking about a joint venture with both Toyota GM?
If so, it's the plant where the GM Vibe and Toyota Matrix were produced (same basic platform), and GM ceased production of the Vibe, thus forcing the closure.

You are correct. Also, by the way, it was the only unionized Toyota plant in the USofA.

That's because it was a joint venture with GM. GM backed out and left Toyota holding the bag. Toyota has no use for that plant.

Good job on Toyota's part to eventually make every vehicle either a hybrid or make it an option on every vehicle.

WOW! A whole 32 cars. As a top seller, the U.S. market made up more than half of the 1.2 million Prius sold worldwide by early 2009. So those 32 cars represent a percentage around 0.0000457% That is a percentage rate that GM could only dream about having.

Also you don't even tell use what's wrong with those Prius's. Were they in accidents and were totalled or were they defective? Since you're unwilling to provide links to back up your claims we all have to assume that you're just trying to spread false propganda.

GM pulled the plug and backed out of the GM. Also, I wouldn't call those people skilled....they assemble cars and millions of people are waiting for their jobs.

You are wrong. Although the Vibe and Matrix are built on the same platform, they never were built on the same assembly line. Matrix is built in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada. Look at the VIN to tell. If it begins with a "2" it is Canadian built.

Daily Horoscope for December 28

Scorpio

The thought of the sales is almost too good to resist today, and you'll jump at the chance to see what's on offer. Even better if you can snap up some bargains at the same time. It's certainly a good day for investing your money carefully, but make sure you aren't more seduced by the reduction in the cost of something than in the item itself. Are you certain that you want to buy it?
