1 IMO, what he says here has to be considered with that fact kept in mind. |

1 Back on topic – the article remains unchanged and on target. GM continues to perform well in China. |

1 Ooooooooooooooooooooooh in China? That's just fantastic. How about they apply some of that "greatness" here in the U.S. their biggest market? They'll continually be outperformed by Toyota and VW, so they should get used to 3rd place, but not too used to it because Hyundai will soon supplant them and bump GM to 4th. |

1 Actually GM is outperforming the competition in the US, bucking the trend by gaining market, transacting higher, and gaining in retail. Combine this with the success in the Chinese market and you have a real juggernaut. |

1 Too bad when the market picks up here in the U.S. that won't be true. VW, Toyota, Hyundai will outpace GM in gaining market share. |

Maybe vw but I dont see Toyota doing anything in this country like that. People like me have been burnt one to many times with the poor quality crap.

I'm truly very pleased to see GM doing well in China---good for them.(They desperately need to do well somewhere!)
The one thing that bothers me though, given all the bluster and fooforaw JJFADS places on that news, is this:.. Why is it such wonderful news for GM to be doing well in a foreign country, while at the same time JJFADS has nothing good to say about foreign countries doing well in the US? |

Toyota market peaked in 2008. As for domination, no one car company will ever “dominate” again. |

Fair enough – Good job to VW for doing well in the USA and Canada. |

As shown by GM's inability to dominate. Thank you for admiting that. P.S. Looks like Toyota has to foot the entire bill for GM bailing on the Nummi plant in California even though the venture was 50-50. So by GM declaring BR they screwed another partner by not paying for any of the $1.25 billion in environmental clean up for owning the plant PRIOR and during the 25 year joint venture. GM is also not going to contribute to the 4,700 severance packages there worth another "few hundred million dollars," said Maryann Keller, president of consulting firm Maryann Keller & Associates in Stamford, Conn. "Neither GM nor MLC (Motor Liquidation Corp.) have contributed any funds toward NUMMI's end-of-production costs," said Lance Tomasu, a venture spokesman. "We do not know what the overall cost will be." Way to take taxpayers money and then turn around and shove off expenses to another company to foot the bill. |

So GM is really making good money in China? Good for them.
