Yes, it's true that these Springers were Wolves-for-the-Bluecoats, which is understandable, as the Modocs and Paiutes were their hereditary enemies. The Modocs that weren't hanged were scattered across the US as POW's. Ironically, some lived to fight another day, only to be defeated again in 1878. Then the ironies of all ironies the POW's from this "uprising" were eventually moved onto the WSIR to settle and live among the very people that once hunted them.

Not to be sarcastic or critical, Modoc Warrior, but I suggest, before any further attempts at intelligent comments, that you educate yourself on the history of your tribe...and you'll know that the Modocs and Northern Paiutes were the last freedom fighters in this part of the country. Maybe the only.

For your own piece of mind and sake, study and learn your history...that way next time someone asks you "Who in the hell are YOU!" You'll be able to tell them.
