I guess you arent enough of a fan of the early AC/DC to understand that the year after warming up for Aerosmith that they did their Highway to Hell tour and werent a warm up band anymore. Bon Scott also wrote 90% of their best songs, the songs that made the group what they are. The early songs are why this band is at the top and where the band is today really has more to do with Angus Young and the supporting cast than any shrieking this guy does. I have all their stuff and Johnson live can barely sing anymore not that he really could in the first place. I will agree that Johnson may have been the best choice for the band after Bon Scott died but Brian Johnson in his best day was no Bon Scott.

Lost Soul, let I tell you something, lol. Every true AC/DC fan is in the same time also BON SCOTT FAN. And you are obviously not. You are probably too young or don-t really understand what you listening.
And don-t be anxious if some of people say something about Brians shrieknig voice. On the end ALL of them will hurry up, going to buy the new DC album!!
Yes, BIB is trademark and millions of albums were selling in Brian era and we are all happy about that, not just you!! But of course, no one word about Highway to Hell from your side? So this album don-t to be deserved like trademark sign?
Why? Perhaps becouse Britney or Beyonce were sell more records???:)

Let me put it in perspective for you, if you were a real fan and did your research, you would know that Brian's contribution to BIB was what catapulted AC/DC to Mega-stardom, something that eluded Bon, until his best collaborative effort on HTH. lets not forget that BIB alone outsold all of Bon's records altogether. BIB went platanium 21 times!!! I agree with you vocally in this day and era Brian struggles supporting many of the songs. But on their first tours in support of BIB and FTATR and even FOTS Brian was untouchable, he was a force to be reckoned with.
The Band really has nothing to prove, so they're out on stage purely for the fans to enjoy now. Brian knows he's done a great job, so great, that fans and even other famous bands are on the edge of there seat awaiting the release of this next monster album.

First Off, I never said that I hated Brian,In fact I've been to his house and had a beer with him. He's really a nice guy. Now you want "FACTS" Listen to "AC/DC THE INTERVIEW" Brian says when he joined the band "Half the songs were half finished" Well Who do you think half finished those songs.

I will share this with you, I remember hearing BIB in 1980, I was already a grown man so to speak. I know , I know, I get excited sometimes.
HTH was an awesome album I loved it, I play it all the time. But Powerage is my favorite from the Bon era, Dirty Deeds is close to my heart too.
You know, I like all of Bon's albums. Here is some useless information; If you look at the positioning of all time greatest albums sold, HIH
comes in at around number 160, BIB comes in 6th.
the selling of records is how you can determine the popularity and success of a band , lets face it, if the band stinks and they sell no records what do you think is going to happen to the band??
are they going to become more popular or less popular?? I know all are entitled to their opinion, It just doesn't seem right when they say Brian was good just as a replacement or some other condescending stuff, Give credit where credit is due, many blame Brian for some of the questionable lyrics in recent albums, when recently I found out that Mal and Ang removed him from writing and they took charge of that department. But for this next album Mal and Ang have allowed Brian to collaborate as far as writing lyrics. Maybe when expect some good stuff comin from Brian now.

the implication is Bon, but If they were in fact halfway finished I would have to make an educated guess that Mal and Ang (based on how they are the ones writing the lyrics today) halfway finished them.

"Mega-Stardom" Hum, Bon was only with band for about 5 years and wrote Classic after Classic after Classic after Classic. HTH was there first big "US" hit .That's why the timing of his death was so tradgic. What people don`t realize is that AC/DC didn,t just lose it,s singer because singers can be replaced "ENTER BRIAN" They lost there song writer, and without that you have "Come Hell or High Water" instead of Highway To Hell" and "Boogie Man" instead of "Night Prowler"

TO Lost Soul: Bon wrote all the lyrics, that fact was maid plain by all on the video "let there be rock" .Bon said he knew nothing about playing music so he wrote the words while Angus and Malcom wrote the music then he would get together with the band and see witch lyrics fit witch song the best. Why would BIB be any Different? According to the Band on "Ultimate Albums" Bon showed up ,Listen to the songs But had no words ,got drunk that same night and died.

Singers can be replaced, but can they be replaced successfully where the band enjoys much more success than previously achieved?? Not likely. As I said in previous post I'm convinced since the inception of the Band that Mal and Ang are the true lyricists behind each and every song with the assistance of the singer for each era.

Well there you go, the long awaited answer to the mystery that still baffles people into saying that Bon wrote the lyrics to BIB and other songs on the album. Finally we can put that one to rest, thanks Bon Fan.

R U kidding me? Bon Scott sounded like the little girl who sings "I want a hippopotamus for Christmas" He sounded like a poor man's Shirley Temple. Brian Johnson had a voice like a sonic boom, perfect for AC/DC's style. Their album sales quadrupled after Johnson took over. I rest my case.

I was like 12 when Back in Black was released. Its truly amazing to lose such a great singer and still continue on with such great success. Could anyone replace Freddy Mercury of Queen? And for someone to do so would be an accomplishment unheard of. Brian Johnson was that guy for AC/DC.

LOL...I can only speak for myself...I have an issue when it comes to Brian being shortchanged on his vocal abilities when he first joined forces with the band. It doesn't sound any better when people say "He's good as a replacement" or "Bon Scott he ain't", it really doesn't show the respect or moreover the credit that should be due to him. Especially in the light of the fact that he had to unf*ck what What Bon had f*cked when he decided to go party on his own, do whatever he did, showed no responsibility to his fans and not comeback. Brian is the best thing that could have happen the band. Thats why he's been there through thick and thin.

Lost Soul, thank you for your instructive replay. I didn-t wont to be anyhow irreverent.
For some of us Bon is so great, that we sometimes simple forget to give deserve credit and more then earnet recognition to Brian.

"Deserved credit" is what I,m all about, and I believe Bon deserves the credit for writing the lyrics for the songs on BIB.
Any AC/DC Fan like myself (1977)knows Bon wrote the Words and Angus and Malcom wrote the music, need proof watch the video "Let There be Rock" . Brians a great guy, I think he did a great job. But to think he wrote "Givin the Dog a Bone" and "Let Me put My Love Into you " is nuts.
Not to mention "Have a drink on Me "

When I went to Brian's house, he had a room where he wrote songs ,had a big ole stack of them.
After I left I thought ,Wow Bon was a song writer too, so where's the stack of songs he was working on? You mean to tell me that he had nothing going at all towards a new album. Now there,s your PLLLEEAAASSSE!
