When it came time to pay there was a scene where the checkout girl went to the kitchen and brought back an extremely unpleasant woman who did not speak english but appeared to be in charge. After trying to speak Chinese to the customer and failing she insisted he pay for the pork through an interpreter, customer said no even and she was very rude and kept trying to grab his credit card from his hand. Finally she said (through interpreter) that he did not have to pay for pork, only steam table item so he handed over his credit card. She then told him he was going to pay for the pork anyway and tried to charge him.
At that point I became upset. I could see an argument to be made to pay for the pork but telling him he did not have to pay then taking his credit card and trying to charge it anyway was bad service and possibly even criminal. I objected and told them that not only had they last the other person as a customer but they lost me as well and I said I would never come back.
Guess cooler heads prevailed and her co-workers got her to charge just for the steam table items after the man said he would just have the credit card company reject the charges.
Anyway if that is how they treat the customer at the front of the business imagine what they do in the kitchen when no one is watching.
