This is a photo of the red cars stacked atop one another on Terminal Island, as they await their fate. I often wish I had taken a photo of them at the time, but I did not. I found these photos posted on the web page of the Orange Empire Railway Museum "A Short History of the Pacific Electric" at www.oerm.org/pages/pehistory.html

This picture always makes me soo angry when I see it. It's a shame, Los Angeles could have been twice the city of any other city today had we not given up on the Red Car and Yellow car systems.
