Is Gray hair a sign of Stress?

I imagine it is! I don't envy anyone as president.
Look at pictures of Jimmy Carter before his term and look how he looked at the end of his term.
Those four years took a toll.

Gray hair happens for lots of reasons. Some inherit the genes from their parents. But I have found that a lot of people who have gray hair have gone through surgeries where they have received anesthesia. The drug they use to put you out during surgery can effect the pigments of the hair follicle. I guess stress has a lot to do with it because when you have surgery, your body experiences a lot of trauma. When you meet someone with extremely gray hair, ask them if they have had surgery before. I'll bet they will say yes. Myself, I am 56 years old, and have absolutely no gray hair at all. I have never been married, have never had children, and have never had surgery. I am also part American Indian. My grandmother dies at 86 and had very little gray hair. Her hair started turning gray after she had to have her leg amputated and the age of 78. So I believe that trauma to the body has a lot to do with your hair turning gray.

Ha! We were actually talking about this on Topix last year, and someone said Obama will look much older in four years. It is happening quickly and not taking 4 years. And, yes, I think stress is a major factor. Look at side-by-side pics of all presidents when they enter office and compare to 4 years later. Amazing what stress can do.
