before you down sheriff neal , aleast give all the info to whoever you are trying to give it to. all the equipment that the sheriffs dept has come from grants. yes grant money is tax payer money but this money is alotted for the counties of tennessee to get and to buy equipment that could be used if and when rhea county has a really bad emergency. (watts bar train wreck hazardous cargo ect) if the sheriff dont get this money for rhea county , all the money will taken by other counties. so think on what your saying . if we dont use , someone else will.. the next emergency could involve you and your family or friends and you may be wanting some good high tech equipment to help...think think think..........

Yeah and i'll bet every penny of the "grant money" is really used wisely for Rhea County, i've heard grant money from people like you until it makes me puke, and by the way there's no trains that go out to watts bar anymore, wise up! high tech equip. is not all there is to it pal.

Just so you know TVA is considering fixing the spur from the main Norfolk Southern Line to Watts Bar for the nuclear plant. The last time it was used was to bring the reactor vessels to the plant. and to bring coal to Watts Bar Steam Plant. Since most everything is either trucked in or brought in by river they have not needed the spur, but it is on the dream list. So you could have a Watts Bar Train wreck... and no there is a lot more than hi tech equipment gotten with the grants, stuff you would not have a clue about, but it sits ready in case of emergency.
