I used to sit and watch them shoot "heat" right here in the square. I had the luck to be an extra in 7 episodes, two actually got my face in the shots (not very close except one) and the others were from behind. I was showing O Connors son that played a cop my belly button and nips pierced and he seemed to think it was cool. That was way back in the early 90's. I think he might have died but he was a really nice guy, they all were. Us locals treated them like locals and they appreciated it. Even though they were Hollywood celebs they really didn't act like it, they were just like us. Some lived here and some flew in and out every couple days. I think a couple of them even came in through Atlanta and drove together. You can email me any questions cause it is nice to think about those good times.

Nice photographs of Covington. I envy you having had an opportunity to work on "Heat" and am not surprised that the actors were more down to earth then one would expect. I plan to drive to Florida and would love to see the town, in particular, those sights that were used in the show. What is the best route off Route 95 to reach Covington and are there guides available to visits those sights? Thank you.
