CottonPlant Day Parade2007

Cotton Plant Day is a Real BIG EVENT that takes place every year either on the last Saturday in August or the First Saturday in September....There is ALWAYS a parade with Several Bands and People come From Miles around Selling different types of Food from BBQ ribs and Turkey legs, to fried fish and...and just about any other type of food you could think of. There is also a Motorcycle race EVERY year at Biker Clubs come from All over...Even out of State to show of their bikes. I attended the races this year and HUNDERDS of cyclist came to show Off the riding skills!!!!

I have always enjoyed coming back home and particapting in the big Cotton Plant Day activities. I am the daugther of the Late Earnest Lee Pyles and Earnestine Crenshaw Pyles of cotton plant. They have owned and operated Pyles Ranchhouse and Grocery store for years. Recently, my dad passed away November, 2008 and we had to close down the business. If you have ever eaten there you would travel miles and miles to just get his rib sandwiches and pork bar-b-que. This is truly missed. However, I am planning to open a business there soon. We must keep the legacy of the pyles going. We still own the business buildings as well as other buildings there and is looking to help build up cotton plant. Although, I have moved to chicago my home is still cotton plant arkansas and I am proud of it.

bless your soul mr pyles best bar b que ive ever had.... i remember him from when i was 5 yrs old and my family came to the fest every year ... i will forever remember how we all sat out in front of the store on the wooden benches and watch the world go by. My father and mr pyles reminence over things that had happened decades for i was even born... good times... before i even knew what life was about . these were some of my first memories and the reason i pine to visit cp day again now that i am grown...
