Embraer has announced that Hainan Airlines subsidiary Tianjin Airlines has agreed to purchase 40 Embraer E-Jets, comprising 20 E-Jets and 20 E-Jets E2, in an order valued $2.1 billion at current list prices, becoming the first Chinese airline to order the E-Jets E2 model .

United Airlines outlines $169 million in Q2 2014 charges

In a regulatory filing Thursday, United Continental Holdings outlined $169 million in charges it will take against earnings for the three months ended June 30. The largest single item was related to its decision to ground 21 of its smallest regional airplanes, the Embraer ERJ-135s, that it says are under lease through 2018.
