More African-Americans Being Home Schooled

LMAO, the results should be interesting if all black children are home schooled. I'm not talking about mixed breeds, they are almost always smarter than full blooded blacks.

I see nothing but good in it.

The educational system is a good 90% of the problem. Home schooling should work wonders for the black community.

I home schooled my youngest son,he graduated from 12 grade at the age of 15,so yes it is a better option for our children.no one will take the the time to teach your child like you will.

Yes it has failed whites and asians so miserably. That's why they have been unable to succeed in the same places blacks have been failing. I'm sure home schooling is the way to go though. "Ok Demetrius, this is called a 9mm."

I think it takes a big commitment to home school children and I am sure it is easier to just drop the children off to school, but if people do home educate, then I beleive that it can lead to greater benefits and meeting the potential of the child, without the prejudecial and imperial education

but it takes dedication, discipline and resources to make it work

There is nothing wrong with being home schooled. But just becuase we are schooled by our parents, deos not guarantee that the education would be any better.

We must make sure that we recieve proper knowledge regardless of the source.

We must recieve education, and not HEAD-DECAY-TION

Success in public schools takes dedication and discipline. Something that blacks have failed to find within themselves time and time again. You suddenly think they'll find it at home where they can spend time playing their video games instead?

Well that would come down to the parents. Keep in mind that this is were responsibility begins. Most parents who decide to home school, are not going to allow their children to play video games, when the mornings are dedicated to studying.

If a parent just want the kids out of their hair, then they would send them to public schools or private ones. But to home school takes time and devoted energy, to secure a proper learning environment.

We as African Americans were teaching ourselves prior to intergration. Infact our decline educational wise came with intergration. more black students were doing better off learning from our own teachers. We had a better center of self, and had a more solid knowledge of mathmatical concepts, as well as the sciences.

I feel that you may be somewhat underestimating out learning potential. Without the negative academia set by the current educational system, we can achieve only greatness.

Although home schooling is great, we can also start an alternative such as our own AA private schools. We can do this in the form of a co-op, that way the cost would be next to none.

If the Catholics and Jews can have their private schools, then there is no reason why we as African Americans with a 500 billion dollar industry can not have the same. Not to mention donations from all sources to fund this endeavor.

Now this is not suggesting segregration, it is merely leaving an option for those who choose to go this route.

And this my foolish friend is not the problem. Are you familiar with a place in that was called the Five Corners in New York City. The area where the world trade centers used to stand was part of it. During the late to 1700s to mid 1800s' there were black schools there and they were the envy of the country. Guess who screwed them up envious white politicians who caused these schools to be absorbed into a newly constructed Board of Education. Now they could undermine the resources being given to the schools and control the curriculum. Prior to this even the black childrens uniforms were created by hand by black parents. There are just way to many examples of excellence in business and education after slavery ended. Of prosperous black communities striving and becoming well established. Please note there was no welfare or government handouts. But along come envious whites again running blacks off of acres of land, white bankers presenting illegal foreclosures to many black home and land owners. In other words there are too many examples of whites doing what they've always done... steal and undermine and then blame the victim for its current situation.Take jobs away from blacks as was done with the advent of white unions in this country. Millions of blacks lost good paying jobs as shipbuilders and construction workers...these same jobs helped to turn an influx of white immigrants into middle class Americans. Please note there was no formal education system in this country until the Repblican Party and the African National Council created it during the Reconstruction period.
