TELEVISION actor Kate Ritchie had a message for hundreds of starry-eyed Northern Tasmanian students yesterday - fame will only get you so far.

KATE Ritchie has been quietly biding her time this year with endorsements plus an appearance - via a pre-recorded segment at least - in the play Bondi Dreaming which opened this week.
