Back on more solid footing here...so please god don't email me, okay, lady? Paramount has released Mannix: The Sixth Season , a much better ratio of good-to-excellent episodes than we saw in the last set of the classic 70s private detective series, this time from its 1972-1973 season.

Senior vice president of research for both USA Network and CLOO, Ted Linhart A - an avid fan of the series - has selected a dozen of his favorite eps which will air in semi-rotation starting at 6 AM CLOO, currently available in 38 million homes, is a destination channel for crime and mystery fans.

Mannix ran for eight seasons starting in the late 1960s till the mid 1970s. During that run, it earned numerous Emmys and Golden Globe nominations, and even won several for its two stars, Mike Connors and Gail Fisher.

Another day, another detective show Every once in a while, as I watch season after season of TV-on-DVD titles, I'll contemplate just how much time I've spent in the company of fictional crime-solvers. Because these aren't just finite two-hour films - these are multi-hour affairs, and I'll sit through anything.
