Christopher Parker, prosecuting at Winchester Crown Court , said Waters stabbed 34-year-old Anita Bawtree to death at their flat in Paynes Road, Freemantle, Southamp-ton, on April 19 last year during "a violent and sustained assault". The court heard reports of shouting and Waters screaming at Ms Bawtree before a "thud" was heard and then silence.

Upon arrival, 24-year-old Christopher Parker told them that when he entered the elevator at his residence, two suspects brandished a handgun and assaulted him by punching him in the head.

Christopher Parker was incarcerated for 120 days for sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl for more than a year.
